Betty The Easter Egg Layer
A Honeybuns comic by Khalid Birdsong
I'm not too fond of the idea of banning books.
Even the ones with racist depictions of people of color can be difficult to read or look at, but they can give readers an understanding of the mindset and views of the period in which the book was created.
Even if it makes you wonder something as simple as, “What in the heck were they thinking back then?!”
More progressive books about minorities or stories you rarely see shouldn’t be kept out of places where people need to read them and have a chance to get exposed to another way of living or thinking.
I also find it interesting how, as we age, we can see the books we loved as children differently. It’s even more enlightening when the younger generation notices things older people cannot see as quickly.
I am with you No Banning of Books!!.....Cuz Ruth
