The Honeybuns Family Character Sheets
Creating a page about each of your cartoon characters is a fantastic way to get to know them as a writer and share who they are with readers. The only problem? I really don’t enjoy making them!
Even though I know it’s a good idea, it’s tough for me to sit down and just draw one character and talk about their personality and challenges. I’m impatient. I’d rather just get right to making comics.
Some artists love character design and planning out their clothes with several options. I do not love that. I want to tell the story or think up gags—that’s what’s fun.
I pushed myself to think through the characters for The Rabbits Next Door and put in the time for their character sheets. Of course, I’m now happy I did it and understand them better. It’s not from nothing, though. I’ve been drawing them off and on in longer stories and comic strips like The Honeybuns on Webtoon for several years.
This update is for the rabbits; in the next one, I’ll share the humans, Gordon’s family.
Some of their personal information may change over time, but here’s a start.
I didn’t know that was part of cartooning. Interesting!
